This building is a public university located in fronting on the main thoroughfare to downtown Cleveland, Euclid Avenue, Ohio.
In this opportunity I am going to talk about the importance of the circulation in the Cleveland State University Student Center. In this project we can see that there are two types of circulation in its three floors. Studying the horizontal circulation of this project, we can observe that it has a wide circulation, directed to a central space called atrium, where converge the different circulations in the ground floor. When we observe the vertical circulation, we note that they don’t use ramps; instead, this project has stairs. Also we notice a main module of vertical circulation intended to communicate more quickly the floors, where we find the elevators. Besides this module, there are some other stairs distributed around the perimeter of the project, which have the function of communication between the floors and also communicate with the outside. In conclusion, we could see that circulation is able to define the spatiality and separate the main areas from the secondary.
